IFG served as Owner’s Representative to the Detroit Tigers, overseeing all aspects of the team’s development of their new ballpark in downtown Detroit, including project team selection, managing the design, construction oversight and direct purchase of significant FF&E items. The project included demolition of 30 existing buildings, environmental remediation, and site improvements to prepare the 55-acre site, for Comerica Park and the future incorporation of Ford Field for the Detroit Lions. The open-air ballpark includes 40,000 seats, 105 private suites, a stadium club and restaurant, parking ramp for 1,000 spaces and 1,500 surface parking spaces. Designed architect was HOK Sport (Populous) with SHG Architects and constructed by the Huber, Hunt and Nichols, Turner and White Joint Venture, the $325 million ballpark project opened in April 2000.
