IFG personnel served in the capacity of Owner’s Representative and Development Manager for the new arena that serves as the home of the NBA Chicago Bulls and NHL Chicago Blackhawks. IFG personnel were involved in all aspects of planning, design, construction, and opening of the new arena including evaluation of various existing arenas, completion of a feasibility analysis, site planning, financing (private), lobbying for state legislation, land acquisition, resident relocation, facility design, contract negotiations, including construction contracts, team leases, concession and catering contracts, suite leases, construction administration, establishment of operating staffs and procedures, and continuing operations. The new arena includes 20,500 seats, 212 luxury suites, various clubs and lounges club and parking for approximately 5,500 cars. Designed by HOK Sport (Populous) and constructed by Huber Hunt Nichols, the $175 million arena project opened in August 1994.
